![]() It comes with a bearing motor and solid state foot pedal. I would suggest the newer version of this if you are penny pinching. ![]() If you have a benchtop reostat and spst foot pedal, this may work well for you. The motor is low to mid RPM, with almost no torque. The range of the pedal clips the upper 50-75% of the rpms, so you go from low rpm with no torque (useless), to almost full speed (full clicks over when pedal is fully depressed). It has live voltage and resistance even when not in use, so it is a fire hazard. ![]() The foot pedal is a carbon resistor, which gets hot and poorly controls speed. The shaft did not come greased, and none was included. HP just means watts used, not actual power of the motor. The motor is old style 1/4 hp, which is more like a 1/10 hp bearing motor.
